How to Lower Your Heart Rate

Stress is an adaptive response. It's the body's "fight or flight" reaction to an event that is seen as threatening. To prepare for fighting or fleeing, the body increases its heart rate and blood pressure; more blood is then sent to your heart and muscles, and your respiration rate increases.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, or encounter a major matter of stress in your life, your adrenalin kicks in and your sympathetic nervous system takes over. Your body is suddenly prepared for action, but if you’re not running away from something or fighting it (AKA taking action), your body reacts with heart palpitations, sweating, increased stomach acidity, and increased heart rate and blood pressure.

High blood pressure and a high resting heart rate can lead to a variety of health problems. Any way you phrase it, the question remains: How to lower your heart rate, lower your resting heart rate or reduce your heart rate?

Exercise to lower your heart rate can work when you exercise on a regular basis and watch your diet. Other measures to reduce your heart rate include weight control, avoidance of smoking, lower fat intake, and reduced sodium and alcohol consumption.

In addition, research tells us that stress may play a role in the development of high blood pressure and high heart rate. While evidence to date does not suggest that stress management is the only way to lower resting heart rates, some stress reduction techniques, when used regularly in conjunction with exercise to lower heart rates can be a valuable tool.

Stress management tools such as the StressEraser can help to lower resting heart rates as well. The StressEraser shows your breathing pattern in a series of spikes and waves to demonstrate how a constant state of stress could be leading to a high heart rate. By teaching you how to breathe in a more relaxing manner, you can learn to control your feelings of stress and ultimately may be able to reduce your heart rate.

If a high heart rate is impacting your life in a negative way and you want to naturally reduce your heart rate or lower your resting heart rate sooner rather than later, order a StressEraser today. It costs $179, and we offer a 30-day stress-free guarantee.
